About the Workshop
The workshop has two aims. The first is advice: panels and a talk on how the academic and industrial job markets work, from people who have recently been through them and from people who make hiring decisions. The second is visibility: a set of job candidates, selected from applications, who are listed on this site and introduced to employers attending MICRO-59.
Panels
Industry research, product engineering, and academic research compared, and a second panel with recent graduates on application materials, job talks, interviews, and negotiation.
Talk
How faculty searches and industry research hires are evaluated and decided, from someone who has served on hiring committees.
Coffee Break
Time set aside for candidates to meet the panelists and the hiring managers attending the conference.

Full details, including speakers, are on the schedule page.
